She's getting ready
Start writing. Start documenting the journey towards the finish line December 8,2013. That's the purpose of this blog. Now to start running. I will. Next week. I've been on a hiatus since April and have missed getting outside and have also missed how I feel after a long run. The questions start creeping in my head. Can I do it? is the big one. I also start thinking that I won't have enough time, there will be bad weather, and all of my family stuff will take away from the training that is in my future. All those are great excuses...achem, reasons why running doesn't happen some days. My goal for June\July is to get my endurance up so I can be ready for Hal Higdon's 26.2 training program which will start August 5th. I have ran 2 1/2 marathons. About March the idea of completing a full marathon popped into my head. I shoved it off. Pushed it to the side as I was in the middle of everything. When is Mommy not in the middle of everything? There are two reasons why I want to complete this goal: 1) finish something I know is truly challenging and 2) so my children will know if you put your mind to it you can do it. The benefits of reaching my goal are many--better mental state, much improved self confidence, way better body shape, and time alone or with a good friend, and new shoes. I should run out of at least 2 pair during this training time from June to December. I wrote this paragraph so during the middle of training I can read this and know what in the world I am doing.
